I accept a Umarex Colt Commander (in BB) and just got ane in Airsoft (doesn't say Umarex simply information technology appears to be a KWC built gun AFAIK). On neither will the slide release by pulling back the slide. On a fresh magazine, on NO magazine, at all. Y'all Take to pull downward on the slide release lever to release the slide. It seems the detent is cut way too large to really engage the back of the slide lock lever.  Since I bought information technology for a realistic practice gun, I'grand not happy with that, merely I also don't accept high hopes that I happen to just coincidentally have two guns with like problems – I suspect this is a pattern flaw, equally everything else appears well made.

Does ANYONE take a KWC built 1911 where the slide release functions correctly? Has anyone modded it to set this? Perhaps a bigger release lever crash-land?

Looking at information technology a bit closer, I think the slide lock detent is but cut virtually 0.150"  forward of where information technology should be in lodge to movement the lever out of the fashion on pull dorsum. It doesn't have much travel to pick up a 6mm bb.

And then plainly information technology'southward a known problem common to virtually all of them. I've found 3 unlike fixes

    i) disable the slide stop detent spring. This might piece of work for some, but on mine (and the ones in the video below) the slide terminate catch is cavernous and would never push the slide stop lever down – it has to fall.
    2) Make full in the slide stop notch then that it tin can contact the slide stop lever. On a steel 1911 slide this could be filled with weld, recut, heat treated, and blued. Certain  to exceed the price of the gun.  Or you lot tin can just fill it with something else – metal/superglue/plastic/etc.. Some of the videos I constitute go this route. With some care it tin work and not expect horrid. But yous're as well messing with the dwell time for the slide to lock dorsum in the showtime place, and the weaker springs in co2 gun magazines could brand it a fleck more sluggish.

    3) Replace or modify the slide stop lever. The video uses one I found here (https://www.evike.com/products/32432/). This ane actually keys off the slide bottom itself and doesn't require contact with the sloped behind of the notch. If you want your CO2 1911 to release the slide from pullback – this looks like the ticket.
